Karen Oberthaler, VMD, DACVIM Oncology

Veterinary Oncologist

Dr. Oberthaler

Dr. Karen Oberthaler is a board-certified veterinary oncologist and a diplomate of the American College of Internal Medicine in Oncology.

Dr. Oberthaler graduated magna cum laude from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Following graduation she completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 2003. She then returned to Philadelphia for an Oncology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, which she completed in 2006. Dr. Oberthaler also obtained her undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Oberthaler moved to Colorado after 13 years in private practice in New York City and Miami. For her, caring for her patients with cancer is not only a career but a passion. While trained and experienced in some of the most advanced veterinary hospitals in the country, the goal will always the same: ensuring dogs and cats with cancer have the best quality of life and access to the most up-to-date treatments available. By combining years of experience, top-notch expertise, and unwavering compassion for her patients and the families that love them, Dr. Oberthaler is committed to helping dogs and cats with cancer live longer and happier lives.

 

Marie Janson, DVM, MS, DACVIM Oncology, CVA

Veterinary Oncologist

Dr. Janson received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 2001 and completed a one year rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in 2002 for advanced training in small animal internal medicine and surgery. She went on to complete her three year medical oncology residency at Colorado State University and obtained her board certification in 2005. She fell in love with Colorado ever since and is happy to call this beautiful state home.

Dr. Janson brings over 18 years of experience as a medical oncologist to our team with a special interest in Integrative oncology, which is a combination of traditional options alongside complementary treatment options. Dr. Janson pursued extra training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, natural nutrition, nutritional supplements, and has obtained her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture.

Dr. Janson enjoys life long learning and being able to offer the most innovative options from a conventional and holistic aspect that work together to improve the quality of life for all cancer patients she has the pleasure of working with. In her free time, Dr. Janson enjoys spending time with her three children, two dogs and a cat enjoying all the sunshine and outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer.

Caitlin deStefano, CVT

Practice Manager,

Head Oncology Technician

Caitlin has been working as a Veterinary Nurse with Dr Oberthaler since 2019, and has been with Treeline from its beginning. She became the Practice Manager in 2022. She received her Bachelor's degree at CU Boulder in 2012 in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and has been a Certified Veterinary Nurse since 2017. In her free time she likes cuddling with her kitties, going on trips, cooking, and reading.

 

Jordan Ingersoll, RVT

Director of Outreach and Patient Care,

head Oncology Technician

Born in Southern California, Jordan moved to Colorado in 2016 for a great veterinary technician program. Shortly after graduating in 2018, Jordan began working with Dr. Oberthaler as an oncology technician and found her passion. She is dedicated to making sure each and every visit is special and comfortable for our patients.

In her free time she enjoys relaxing with her husband and two young children, trying new restaurants, and enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather.

 
 

Emily Westbrook, CVT

Oncology Technician

Emily grew up in Broomfield, Colorado and knew she wanted to work with animals from a very young age.

Emily earned her certification to become a Veterinary Nurse in 2019 and joined the Treeline team in 2022 where she continues to do meaningful work that she is very passionate about.

In her free time she enjoys snuggling her two dogs, Bodhi and Zelly, traveling, and exploring Colorado’s beautiful outdoors. 

Emily is a Fear Free Certified® Veterinary Professional.

 

Vivie Hybarger

Receptionist

Oncology Assistant

Vivie was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She moved to Colorado 5 years ago to attend Colorado State University. 

After graduation, she rediscovered her passion for working with animals. Eager to learn more about veterinary medicine, she joined the Treeline team in 2023. 

In her free time, she enjoys playing with her kitten Blu, traveling, and exploring beautiful Colorado.
